Attention Juniors & Seniors with Dual Enrollment or Work-Based Learning!
All 11th and 12th-grade students who have Dual Enrollment or Work-Based Learning during 1st block are required to report to the WCHS Campus on the first day of school.
All juniors and seniors will attend the Code of Conduct Meeting during 1st block. Following the meeting, students will report to their regularly scheduled classes.

📵 New for the 2026–2027 School Year: Georgia’s Distraction-Free Education Act 📚
As we prepare for the first day of school, we want students and families to be aware of new procedures regarding personal electronic devices.
🔸 Cell Phones:
Students’ cell phones will be secured in classroom phone lockers during 1st block.
🔸 Other Personal Technology:
Any personal technology brought to school will be collected when students enter through the weapon detection system. This includes, but is not limited to:
⌚ Smartwatches
🕶️ Smart glasses
💻 Tablets and laptops
🎧 Headphones and earbuds
📱 Any device capable of wireless communication, internet access, messaging, gaming, social media, video recording, or data transmission
Collected devices will be held in the front office until the end of the school day.
❗ Students are strongly encouraged to leave unnecessary technology at home. Classroom phone lockers do not have enough space to store smartwatches, tablets, headphones, laptops, smart glasses, or other electronic devices.
Students who do not comply with the Distraction-Free Education Act will be subject to disciplinary action as outlined in the district’s Code of Conduct.

🎉 WCHS Celebrates Students Selected for the 2026 Georgia Tech Summer Institute! 🎉
Worth County High School is proud to recognize Ansley Bartley, Garrett Carter, and Rainah Lee for being selected to participate in the 2026 Georgia Tech Summer Institute, a prestigious statewide residential program held in June on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta.
The Georgia Tech Summer Institute provides talented rising high school juniors from across Georgia with opportunities to explore STEM majors and career pathways while preparing for a successful transition from high school to college.
Selection into this highly competitive program is based on exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and character. Students must meet rigorous qualifications, including:
⭐ Be a rising high school junior
⭐ Rank in the top 10% of their class
⭐ Complete Pre-Calculus or Calculus during high school
⭐ Demonstrate PSAT/SAT scores projected to be 1200 or higher
⭐ Exhibit outstanding leadership and good citizenship both in and outside the classroom

Beginning the 2026-2027 school year, Worth County High School will implement updated procedures in accordance with the Georgia Distraction-Free Education Act and Worth County Schools' district expectations.
Unlike last school year, students will no longer have access to their personal electronic devices during class changes or between instructional periods.
Students who bring personal electronic devices to school will be required to power them off as they are collected at the beginning of the student's instructional day and returned at the end of the student's instructional day.
For most students, devices will be collected by their first block teacher and returned by that teacher at dismissal.
Students participating in Work-Based Learning, Dual Enrollment, or other programs with varying schedules will turn their devices in to the CTAE office upon arrival and retrieve them when they dismiss from campus for the day.
This expectation has been outlined in our Student and Parent Handbook (https://tinyurl.com/WCHSHandbook27) and has helped minimize distractions and maximize instructional time for our students. Any personal communication devices brought to school are subject to the procedures and consequences outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
We recognize this represents a change from previous practices at WCHS, and we appreciate the support of our students and families as we work to eliminate distractions and maximize learning while remaining committed to the success of every student.
